Bee Beautiful with Makeup from MAC & NO.7
I was never really into makeup since a few years ago, I didn't know where to start but I knew what the basics were, I use to use No.7 makeup because they sell good quality makeup and its at an affordable price which suited my student budget. NO.7 products did treat me well and I still use two products that I really like even after experimenting with different brands.
I had always heard good things about MAC products but I had never tried it before, all my friends said it was good so I thought I would have a go and buy my foundation from there.
I brought the pro long foundation as the make up artist said it was good for oily skin. My skin when I brought the pro long foundation was oily.

Pro-Long Foundation - £25.00
Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation - £21.50 |
I applied the foundation with a brush at first and the coverage was really good but I felt like it was cracking near my nose area and it wasn't smooth enough. It also doesn't provide 15 hours of coverage as mine only lasted a few hours and then it was coming off near my chin area.
I then went back and saw studio fix which is a powder and a foundation in one, which was perfect because I had never used powder and I wanted to try it out. I applied this with a brush and it was perfect! my skin was smooth but you have to be careful that it doesn't look uneven as it is a powder. So equal amounts on every part of your face will stop unevenness. All in all the studio fix was my winner from these two products as I found it easier to blend rather than the pro long foundation which is liquid based.
I got the MAC bug after this and went back for more!
This time I got a lipstick, I wanted a red lipstick as it was trending and I wanted to be bold as I never wore lipstick before, I always use to stick to lip gloss as I thought lipstick would look too much on me. I came across the famous Ruby Woo.

Ruby Woo Lipstick - £15.00
Cherry Lip Liner - £12.00 |
The make up artist put a cherry colour lip liner on my lips first and coloured my lips in. She then applied the ruby woo lipstick and I was in love! I looked so different I didn't think a bold lip colour could change my appearance so drastically. I wear this colour when I' am going out for a meal or to a party as it is that bold and stands out really well.
I decided I needed more of the MAC products and I started to replace my NO.7 products, I thought I would look at blushers and I was very critical because my NO.7 blusher is really good as it isn't too strong in colour and its subtle on my skin tone, it also comes with a little brush too.

MAC Blusher (Warm Peach) - £18.00
NO.7 Blusher (Soft Damson) - £9.00 |
I looked at the wide range of blushers MAC had to offer and I chose a pink blusher which is not as subtle as the NO.7 blusher. I found that the MAC blusher was very strong in colour but nonetheless the blusher did give a nice glow to my cheeks. I have kept both blushers now and I use the MAC one for occasions.
At this point I was in love with the lipsticks that MAC had to offer.

Retro Matte Lipstick (Pink Poodle) - £15.00 |
I wanted a nice tone which I could wear every day to work and on day outs. So I chose the retro matte lipstick which is a lovely fuchsia colour that goes really well with my skin tone. Even though the colour looks bright, when its on it sits perfectly and stays on all day, which is fantastic!
I wasn't happy with my Nivea face cream as it did nothing good for my skin, I decided to have a look at other brands and try different face creams out.

Comfort Cream - £24.50 |
I chose the MAC comfort cream as it was like velvet on my skin and gave my skin a nice glow. The areas on my face that sometimes contained dried skin was gone and my face felt more smoother.
This cream is good overall as it freshens the face up and it leaves your face smoother all day.
My next purchase had to be a eye liner, all the eye liners I used in the past didn't give me a straight line. I went through products from Maybelline and Barry M and none of the eye liner was any good, the brush would of been really soft which meant that my eyes would end up as panda eyes!
I then thought of going to see if MAC had any good ones (are you noticing a pattern here?)

Liquid Eye Liner (Black) - £15.00
NO.7 Stay Precise Liquid Eye Liner (Black) - £7.50 |
This eye liner had a stiff brush which meant that when drawing the line on top of my eye lid, the line would be straight and I would of had more control over it than the other eye liners I had used. The NO.7 eye liner had a soft brush too and it was hard to control, I wouldn't recommend the NO.7 eye liner as it was hard to use and the line would not come out straight.
Talking about eye makeup, the only product I never changed was my NO.7 Intense Volume Waterproof Mascara.

NO.7 Intense Volume Waterproof Mascara (Black)- £9.95 |
I love this mascara as the brush is not too big and not too small. It was perfect in the way it made my eye lashes longer by just one stroke. There was no lumpiness and the mascara was easy to wash off at the end of the day.
Overall, I think I will change some products and try out different brands to see which one suits me, but till then I am more than happy with my switch from NO.7 to MAC.
And that concludes the end of Bee's Makeup Kit (Then & Now) =)
Hope you enjoyed my first post on my first ever blog!
